Using a defibrillator

Resuscitation and defibrillator use (3 hours)

A defibrillator is a life-saving machine that gives the heart an electric shock in some cases of cardiac arrest. Using one quickly on someone suffering a heart attack can greatly increase their chance of survival. Automated External Defibrillators or AEDs are becoming more common in public places such as shopping and leisure centres.

Who is it for?

Anyone who wants to learn or refresh their basic resuscitation skills and learn how to use an AED.

What does it cover?

Resuscitation techniques and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED).  There will be plenty of opportunity to practice.
